Cybersecurity & regulatory assurance
Cybersecurity and CIMA regulatory assurance for Cayman businesses
Since 1997 we’ve helped Cayman organisations, and financial services and CIMA-regulated entities in particular, manage cyber risk, regulatory compliance and operational resilience. Our in-house security team assesses, tests and assures your controls, then helps you fix what it finds.

Why it matters
Cybersecurity isn’t simply an IT issue
It’s a matter of governance, resilience, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk, and your board is accountable for it.
Automated scanning tools find technical weaknesses. They can’t tell you whether your governance holds up, whether your controls work as designed, or how a finding maps to your regulatory obligations.
Our assessments cover all of it, and turn the findings into practical recommendations and executive-level reporting for senior management and boards.
What our assessments cover
The full picture, reported in language your board can act on
We work independently, or alongside your in-house or overseas IT team, providing specialist assessment, testing and assurance.
01
Cybersecurity maturity
How well your programme is defined, resourced and embedded today, against where it needs to be.
02
Governance
Board and senior management oversight, policies, roles and the evidence a regulator expects to see.
03
Control effectiveness
Whether your controls actually work as designed, not just whether they exist on paper.
04
Regulatory exposure
How each finding maps to CIMA’s Rule and Statement of Guidance and the Data Protection Act.
05
Remediation priorities
A practical, risk-ranked plan your IT team, or ours, can act on straight away.

Compliance
Data Protection Act and CIMA cybersecurity, made practical
Every Cayman business holding personal data — and every CIMA-regulated entity — must protect that data and report known breaches to the authorities within tight timeframes. We translate the rules into controls, policies and evidence.
Cayman Data Protection ActData mapping, privacy guidance and breach-reporting readiness.
CIMA cybersecurity rulesCompliance assessments, control testing and incident procedures for regulated entities, mapped to the Rule and Statement of Guidance.
Cybersecurity policy frameworkReview and implementation of your cybersecurity policies, benchmarked against recognised standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST CSF 2.0.
Audit supportWe bridge the gap between your auditors and your IT team.
For CIMA-regulated firms
Outsourcing terms your regulator expects
Banks, insurers, fund administrators, trust companies and securities businesses can add our Regulated Client Addendum to their agreement. It gives you:
- Access for you, your auditors and CIMA to the records, people and premises behind your service
- Prompt notice of security incidents and of anything that could affect your service
- A business continuity plan, including hurricane preparedness, tested every year
- Backup data kept in the Cayman Islands unless you agree otherwise in writing
- No material sub-contracting without telling you first
- An annual statement of the security controls we apply
- Exit without penalty if CIMA directs you to end the arrangement, with transition support
How we protect your data
- MFA on every CNS staff login to client systems
- Least-privilege admin access, logged and reviewed
- Credentials kept in an encrypted, access-controlled vault
- Encryption in transit and for backups at rest
- Background checks and annual security training for staff
- Your data logically segregated from other clients’
For managed IT clients
Protection built into every managed IT plan
On our managed IT plans, layered security comes as standard — deployed, tuned, monitored and reported on by our team every month.

All plansVulnerability monitoring & remediationAn AI-driven agent scans your devices and internet-facing systems for weaknesses and exposed services, alerts us to what matters and fixes many issues automatically.

Premium & CompleteEmail securityFilters phishing, malware and impersonation attempts, with quarantine and investigation of reported emails.
Premium & CompleteEmail authenticationSPF, DKIM and DMARC moved to full enforcement, so no one can send email pretending to be you. MTA-STS and SMTP TLS reporting keep mail to your domain encrypted, and BIMI shows your logo beside your emails in supporting inboxes.
Premium & CompletePhishing simulations & trainingShort, regular training and simulated phishing emails, with completion and click-rate reporting.
All plansDark web monitoringMonitors every user’s email address for leaked credentials in breach data and dark web markets, with alerts and help forcing password resets.

How an engagement works
- Step 1Discovery callWe learn how your business works, what data you hold and which regulations apply.
- Step 2Assess & testGovernance and policy review, control effectiveness testing, and penetration and vulnerability testing.
- Step 3Board-ready reportingFindings mapped to CIMA’s expectations and recognised frameworks, with prioritised recommendations for senior management and the board.
- Step 4Remediate & re-testWe fix the gaps, or support your IT team to, then re-test to show the controls now work.
Cybersecurity questions
How often should we have a cybersecurity assessment?
At least once a year, and after any major change to your systems or a significant incident. CIMA’s Rule expects your framework to be reviewed regularly, so an annual assessment also gives your board the evidence it needs.
Isn’t an automated vulnerability scan enough?
Scans are useful, and we run them, but they only find technical weaknesses. They can’t tell you whether your governance holds up, whether your controls work as designed or how a finding affects your regulatory obligations. Our assessments cover all of that.
Which frameworks do you work to?
Our approach aligns with CIMA’s regulatory expectations and recognised frameworks, including ISO/IEC 27001 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0. We map findings to whichever your board and auditors use.
Who receives the report?
Two audiences: a technical findings report for your IT team, and an executive summary for senior management and the board covering risk, regulatory exposure and remediation priorities.
We’re a small office. Do these regulations apply to us?
If you hold personal information about clients or staff, the Data Protection Act applies, whatever your size. We tailor the work to your scale and budget.
What happens if we think we’ve been breached?
Call (345) 926-7666 straight away — we answer emergency calls 24/7. Don’t click links, open attachments or enter your password, and if you already have, tell us immediately. Acting quickly makes a big difference, and you’ll never be in trouble for reporting something.
Can you help with our cyber insurance questionnaire?
Yes. Our managed plans are built around the controls insurers most often ask for — MFA, endpoint detection and response, backups and staff training — and we help you answer insurer questions about the controls we manage.
Can we use Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools safely?
Copilot can see anything a user has permission to see. Before you switch it on, we review your permissions, sharing settings and sensitivity labels so it only surfaces what each person should see.
Can you work with our existing IT provider?
Yes. We regularly work alongside in-house and overseas IT teams, providing independent testing and oversight.
